What is High Damping Bearing(HDRB)
HDR stands for high damping rubber bearing, which is mainly used for bridge seismic resistance and shock absorption.
The seismic isolation rubber bearing not only has all the performance of the plate bearing, but also has good seismic isolation performance, which can effectively reduce the damage caused by earthquakes to bridges. The high damping rubber bearing is a type of seismic isolation rubber bearing. The rubber used is made of high damping rubber material, which can make the damping ratio reach 10% to 16%. Its shape and structure are the same as those of natural rubber bearings, but its rubber material has high viscosity, can absorb energy by itself, and has great ductility. It can extend the natural vibration period of the structure and reduce the seismic force during an earthquake. It uses its energy dissipation characteristics to play a role in seismic isolation, and has reached the performance of lead core sandwich rubber bearings.
Types of High Damping Bearing(HDRB)
The bearing, pier, and beam are to be connected with sleeve and bolt. The top and bottom of the bearing are embedded steel plates. The upper and lower bearing steel plate, and the sleeve are connected with bolts. The upper and lower embedded steel plate and the sleeve are welded together.
The bearing, pier, and beam are connected by sleeve and bolt; the bottom of the bearing is not embedded steel plate, the bottom sealing plate and sleeve are connected by bolt, the upper embedded steel plate and the upper sealing plate are connected by shear tenon, the upper embedded steel plate and sleeve are welded together.
LNR horizontal force dispersion bearings can reliably transmit the reaction force and deformation (displacement and rotation) of the bridge superstructure to the bridge substructure, so that the stress condition of the structure is consistent with the theoretical calculation diagram.

Installation of high damping seismic isolation rubber bearings
(1) HDR high damping seismic isolation rubber bearings are installed as a whole and shall not be disassembled at will. If the lifting equipment has limited capacity and needs to be disassembled and hoisted, each disassembled body must be protected.
(2) During installation, the top surface of the pier and the bottom surface of the beam should be kept clean, dry and free of oil.
(3) When installing the top plate of the movable bearing, the influence of the installation temperature on the displacement should be considered.
(4)The center line of the HDR high-damping seismic isolation rubber bearing should coincide with or be parallel to the center line of the main beam.
(5) After the HDR high-damping seismic isolation rubber bearing is installed and inspected, the temporary connection components between the top and bottom plates of the bearing when it leaves the factory should be removed, and the dustproof enclosure of the bearing should be installed;
(6) During the actual installation process of the HDR high-damping seismic isolation rubber bearing, it varies with the different bridge construction processes.
(7) When the HDR high-damping seismic isolation rubber bearing is welded, a pre-buried steel plate with a higher flatness should be set on the pier support pad stone and the beam body, and a certain number of steel bars should be set on the pre-buried steel plate.

High-damping seismic isolation rubber bearings use viscoelastic high damping rubber materials. The viscoelasticity of the rubber itself is used to constrain the vibration of the structure to absorb energy and reduce the seismic force; the rubber material has a large ductility, which can extend the natural vibration period of the structure during an earthquake and avoid the influence of the earthquake peak load.

High-damping composite rubber materials are used to replace the lead core. By adjusting the proportion of the filling material to change the total damping, it has a strong energy dissipation capacity and plays a role in seismic isolation.
High-damping rubber bearings have stable performance, strong energy dissipation and ductility. High-damping rubber bearings have a higher equivalent viscous damping, that is, higher energy dissipation, and significant shock absorption and isolation effects. They can effectively control the seismic response of the seismic isolation structure.
Because the functions are integrated together, the volume is smaller than the lead core bearing, which can save space, and the construction is more convenient.
